Student Visa Registration Guide
Welcome to the SDU University student visa registration guide. This guide will help you navigate the registration and legal requirements necessary for studying in Kazakhstan.
Arrival in Kazakhstan
After crossing the customs border at Almaty airport or other entry points into Kazakhstan, all international students must report to the International Relations Office (Room B203) at SDU within 1 working day. Bring all necessary documents for processing by the Visa Coordinator or an assistant.
Required Documents
To complete your registration, please have the following documents ready:

Passport
- Required for identification.

Migration Card
- Provided by Customs Officers upon entry into Kazakhstan.

Visa Application Form
- To be filled out at the International Relations Office (Room B203).

Registration Form
- Also to be filled out at the International Relations Office (Room B203).

Employment Contract
- Signed by the foreign student and prepared by SDU's HR department.

Passport Photo
- One photo, size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.

Application in Duplicate
- Both copies are to be provided upon registration.

Receipt of State Duty Payment
- Proof of payment for the state duty required by Kazakhstani authorities.
Registration Process
The procedure differs based on your entry visa status:

Students with a Student Visa:
- Notification will be made to the migration department within 1 working day after reporting to the Visa Coordinator.

Students without a Visa:
- Registration will be processed within 2 working days.
Please ensure you follow these steps promptly to avoid penalties or complications with your student status.
Important Notes on Compliance
Non-compliance with registration deadlines or legal standards may lead to severe penalties. Key points to remember:
- Timely Registration: Late registrations may result in disciplinary action or expulsion from SDU.
- Legal Consequences for Extended Stays: According to Article 517 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, violating the period of stay could result in:
- A fine of 15 to 20 MCI (Minimum Calculation Index), payable by the student.
- Potential arrest for up to 10 days and deportation.
Warning: Repeated violations will lead to a disciplinary council review and possible expulsion from the university.
